Judges 17

And there was a man of mount Ephraim, and his name was Michaias.

Καὶ ἐγένετο ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ ὄρους Ἐφραὶμ, καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Μιχαίας.

And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver which thou tookest to thyself, and about which thou cursedst me, and spokest in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it: and his mother said, Blessed be my son of the Lord.

Καὶ εἶπε τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ, οἱ χίλιοι καὶ ἑκατὸν οὗς ἔλαβες ἀργυρίου σεαυτῇ, καί με ἠράσω, καὶ προσεῖπας ἐν ὠσί μου, ἰδοὺ τὸ ἀργύριον παρʼ ἐμοὶ, ἐγὼ ἔλαβον αὐτό. καὶ εἶπεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ, εὐλογητὸς ὁ υἱός μου τῷ Κυρίῳ.

And he restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I had wholly consecrated the money to the Lord out of my hand for my son, to make a graven and a molten image, and now I will restore it to thee.

Καὶ ἀπέδωκε τοὺς χιλίους καὶ ἑκατὸν τοῦ ἀργυρίου τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ· καὶ εἶπεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ, ἁγιάζουσα ἡγίασα τὸ ἀργύριον τῷ Κυρίῳ ἐκ τῆς χειρός μου τῷ υἱῷ μου τοῦ ποιῆσαι γλυπτὸν καὶ χωνευτὸν, καὶ νῦν ἀποδώσω αὐτό σοι.

But he returned the silver to his mother, and his mother took two hundred pieces of silver, and gave them to a silversmith, and he made it a graven and a molten image; and it was in the house of Michaias.

Καὶ ἀπέδωκε τὸ ἀργύριον τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἔλαβεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ διακοσίους ἀργυρίου, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸ ἀργυροκόπῳ, καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτὸ γλυπτὸν καὶ χωνευτόν· καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν οἴκῳ Μιχαία.

And the house of Michaias was to him the house of God, and he made an ephod and theraphin, and he consecrated one of his sons, and he became to him a priest.

Καὶ ὁ οἶκος Μιχαία αὐτῷ οἶκος Θεοῦ· καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐφὼδ καὶ θαραφίν· καὶ ἐπλήρωσε τὴν χεῖρα ἀπὸ ἑνὸς υἱῶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῷ εἰς ἱερέα.

And in those days there was no king in Israel; every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις οὐκ ἦν βασιλεὺς ἐν Ἰσραήλ· ἀνὴρ τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ ἐποίει.

And there was a young man in Bethleem of the tribe of Juda, and he was a Levite, and he was sojourning there.

Καὶ ἐγενήθη νεανίας ἐκ Βηθλεέμ δήμου Ἰούδα, καὶ αὐτὸς Λευίτης, καὶ οὗτος παρῴκει ἐκεῖ.

And the man departed from Bethleem the city of Juda to sojourn in whatever place he might find; and he came as far as mount Ephraim, and to the house of Michaias to accomplish his journey.

Καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ Βηθλεὲμ τῆς πόλεως Ἰούδα παροικῆσαι ἐν ᾧ ἐὰν εὕρῃ τόπῳ· καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως ὄρους Ἐφραὶμ, καὶ ἕως οἴκου Μιχαία τοῦ ποιῆσαι ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ.

And Michaias said to him, Whence comest thou? and he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethleem Juda, and I go to sojourn in any place I may find.

Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Μιχαίας, πόθεν ἔρχῃ; καὶ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτὸν, Λευίτης εἰμὶ ἐκ Βηθλεὲμ Ἰούδα, καὶ ἐγὼ πορεύομαι παροικῆσαι ἐν ᾧ ἐὰν εὕρω τόπῳ.

And Michaias said to him, Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest; and I will give thee ten pieces of silver by the year, and a change of raiment, and thy living.

Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Μιχαίας, κάθου μετʼ ἐμοῦ, καὶ γίνου μοι εἰς πατέρα καὶ εἰς ἱερέα, καὶ ἐγὼ δώσω σοι δέκα ἀργυρίου εἰς ἡμέραν, καὶ στολὴν ἱματίων, καὶ τὰ πρὸς ζωήν σου.

And the Levite went and began to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

Καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ Λευίτης, καὶ ἤρξατο παροικεῖν παρὰ τῷ ἀνδρί· καὶ ἐγενήθη ὁ νεανίας αὐτῷ ὡς εἷς ἀπὸ υἱῶν αὐτοῦ.

And Michaias consecrated the Levite, and he became to him a priest, and he was in the house of Michaias.

Καὶ ἐπλήρωσε Μιχαίας τὴν χεῖρα τοῦ Λευίτου, καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῷ εἰς ἱερέα, καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Μιχαία.

And Michaias said, Now I know that the Lord will do me good, because a Levite has become my priest.

Καὶ εἶπε Μιχαίας, νῦν ἔγνων ὅτι ἀγαθυνεῖ μοι Κύριος, ὅτι ἐγένετό μοι ὁ Λευίτης εἰς ἱερέα.
